The distinctive black feather markings of this stunning bird are picked out in oxidised detail while the golden colour of the glass is reminiscent of the Hoopoes golden plumage.
This wee fella cannot but help make me smile.
The Hoopoe bird has a kinetic dipping motion - as you tip his beak down to the rim of the bud vase, he springs back up again.
