Tool Making Workshop ~ Chasing & Repousse Punches
Introduction to making chasing tools and texture tools.
Chasing & Repousse tools are rare and expensive to buy, so why not come along and learn to hone your very own!
This workshop is aimed at students who have already taken my Chasing & Repoussé Masterclass or have previous knowledge of this technique.
It will teach you invaluable skills to make many types of steel punches for you to use in your own chasing.
Saturday 10-4 pm.
£115 per student with maximum 4 students
This cost includes tooled steel of various diameters- enough for each student to make 6-10 tools each on the day and to make around 8 more at home.
It also includes 2 sets of premade setting punches to amend into texture tools on the day.
Handouts will be provided on the day.
Students will learn to make
Liner tools ( grinder and filing)
Shaped tools ( hand filing)
Texture tools ( using different methods to create texture on punch)
Repousse Tools ( forging steel )
We will also talk about how to amend and change other tools and how to harden/ temper tools.
You do not have to bring anything to the class but if you would like to do bring:
Apron and close up glasses if needed
Any chasing tools you have previously made
Changing tools you may have bought but are may still be too sharp.
Any old centre punches or old tools you may wish to amend.
