Red Bull Trophies

Inspired by the wonderful creatures of heraldry and myth, Bryony designs sculptures and silverware with a twist. She makes visually intricate, articulated characters, which invite the observer to touch and play, discovering unexpected movement and functions as they handle them. From automated wall pieces to napkin rings, each individual piece is brought to life using the techniques of repousse and chasing.
Bryony is happy to undertake commissions and has work in private and public collections including The Worshipful Company of Ironmongers and Winchester Cathedral.

SUMMER/ AUTUMN 2007
2007 was always going to be an exciting and unusual year as I had a son, William in March. Time to wind down and enjoy our small family. William is now 6 months old and a regular in the workshop!

Before this though, I started the year by exhibiting my new silver work at Collect, the new art show for contemporary objects at the V & A.
In July, I was commissioned by Red Bull, the soft drinks company, to make the trophies for the Red Bull Air Race. This was particularly exciting as it was the first time it has been held in London. The Planes flew above the River Thames, from Greenwich to the Thames Barrier. My Trophy design was inspired by the undulating shape of the river.
In August, I participated in the Bishopsland Retrospective, held by popular request at Bishopsland itself, for the second year. I was happy to sell one of my favourite pieces, the Thoth Decanter, based on a Scared Ibis and shown on the Home page.
This October I will be exhibiting my new range of silver work, based on Playing Cards, along with my Heraldic range, at Goldsmiths’ Fair.
On my return to Edinburgh, we are having an Open Studios Weekend at Wasps Studios , 7 & 8 Oct.

In the spring of 2008 I will be launching a new website, concentrating on the ranges of silver and large scale work I have produced in the past few years.

In the meantime, if you want to see more of my most recent work, please look at my page on
